Just back form another beautiful week of drawing seabirds on the Pembrokeshire Island of Skokholm. Its such a special place - its owned and managed by the Wildlife trust of Wales. Richard and Giselle are the Wardens on the island living in a stunning lighthouse, they have just the right touch - keeping the island feeling like a wild and untouched place, with comfortable accommodation and great access to amazing coast with thousands of birds.
Above images of the island and my favourite hide where I drew razorbills and puffins. Look out for picture with headless (wire) puffin!
new work fresh from the island
I made a flock of three oystercatchers, such a joy to study and draw these characterful birds.
A selection of wire wall drawings made while on the island.
Not just birds on island there is a wealth of insect and plant life..can you spot the rather exquisite moth.
